Cox’s Bazar Surf Hub - exterior concept study.

Synthia Jahan Studio is leading Phase 1 feasibility and concept design for Cox’s Bazar Surf Hub in Bangladesh, shaping the spatial direction, program, material thinking, and early design narrative for a coastal surf, food, culture, and community destination.

The first design question is not aesthetic. It is existential: how does a building survive here? That question shapes the ground plane, structure, material palette, thresholds, and social life of the project.

The current studies draw from coastal Bangladesh: terracotta, bamboo, fishing-net geometry, open-air gathering, surf culture, local food, and a quieter form of resilience that negotiates with water rather than pretending it is not there.
