About

I’m Syn- Synthia Rowshan Jahan, an architectural and interior designer based in British Columbia and working internationally. I practice holistic, environmentally responsible design—aligning site, structure, light, materials, energy, budgets, and community—to create resilient, low-carbon places that feel calm and endure.

Who We Are

About Us

My work spans homes, adaptive reuse, small hospitality, and wellness or retreat spaces, with deep experience in modular and prefab systems. I’ve contributed design to a deployable healthcare manufacturing facility and develop regenerative community plans that integrate water and energy cycles, food systems, mobility, and social infrastructure. Since 2021, my global travels have doubled as fieldwork—studying vernacular building, bio-based assemblies, and off-site delivery—so choices are grounded in real climates and cultures.

Who We Are

Current research focuses on modular, low-cost housing, healthcare facilities, and disaster-preparedness housing at the community scale. I’m also piloting AI-assisted design to test options quickly while keeping decisions human.

Alongside architecture, I maintain a studio painting practice—large-scale acrylics and watercolour studies exploring light, colour, and pattern—which refines my palettes and spatial rhythm.

I'm always looking to partner on beneficial, human-centered, and environmentally sustainable projects, including collaborations with non-profits, charities, and community-led initiatives. Collaborations and commissions welcome.
